Drawing tools on the Chart tab on ThndrX desktop

A guide to the drawing tools panel on the ThndrX desktop Chart tab, including how to place, edit, hide, lock, copy, and remove drawings.

Overview

The Chart tab on ThndrX desktop includes the standard TradingView drawing tools.

Drawings are saved to the stock where the drawing was created.

Saved drawings:

  • remain available across chart layouts for the same stock

  • do not automatically appear on other stocks

  • remain linked to the ThndrX account

  • remain available across supported devices signed into the same ThndrX account

Where to find drawing tools

The drawing tools panel appears along the left side of the Chart tab.

Drawing tools are grouped by category.

Select a drawing tool from the panel, then place the drawing directly on the chart.

Drawing panel utilities

The bottom of the drawing tools panel includes controls that affect drawing behavior across the chart.

Favorites

Favorites pins frequently used drawing tools to a quick-access area.

Magnet

Magnet snaps drawing points to nearby candle values.

Stay in drawing mode

Stay in drawing mode keeps the selected drawing tool active after a drawing is placed.

The same tool can then be used repeatedly without selecting the tool again.

Lock

Lock prevents drawings from being moved or edited accidentally.

The panel Lock control applies to all drawings on the chart.

Individual drawings can also be locked separately.

Hide

Hide opens visibility options for chart elements.

Available options include:

  • Hide drawings

  • Hide indicators

  • Hide position and order lines

  • Hide all supported chart elements

Hiding chart elements does not delete chart elements.

Delete all drawings

Delete all drawings removes every drawing from the current stock.

Placing a drawing

To place a drawing:

  1. Select a drawing tool from the left panel.

  2. Click the required starting point on the chart.

  3. Add or drag additional anchor points when required by the selected tool.

Different drawing tools require different numbers of anchor points.

Selecting and moving a drawing

Click a drawing to select the drawing.

Selected drawings display anchor points or handles.

Drag the drawing or anchor points to change the position or shape.

Editing drawing settings

Drawing settings can be opened by:

  • right-clicking the drawing, or

  • selecting the drawing and opening the settings control

Available settings depend on the selected drawing tool and may include:

  • Style

  • Color

  • Line thickness

  • Coordinates

  • Alerts

  • Timeframe visibility

  • Lock state

Cloning a drawing

To duplicate a drawing:

  1. Right-click the drawing.

  2. Select Clone.

The cloned drawing can then be moved or edited independently.

Selecting multiple drawings

Multiple drawings can be selected together.

Hold:

  • Ctrl on Windows, or

  • Command on Mac

Then select the required drawings.

Multi-select allows supported actions such as moving or editing multiple drawings together.

Copying a drawing to another stock

A drawing can be copied from one stock and pasted onto another stock.

To reuse a drawing:

  1. Select the drawing.

  2. Copy the drawing.

  3. Switch to the target stock.

  4. Paste the drawing.

Drawings do not automatically sync between different stocks.

Removing a drawing

To remove one drawing:

  • select the drawing and press Delete, or

  • right-click the drawing and select Remove

To remove all drawings from the current stock, use Delete all drawings in the drawing panel.

📝 Note: Delete all drawings can be reversed using Undo during the current chart session. After the chart is refreshed or the tab is closed, deleted drawings cannot be recovered through Undo.

How drawings are saved

Drawings are saved to the stock, not to a specific chart layout.

Across layouts

A drawing created on a stock appears across saved chart layouts for the same stock.

Across stocks

A drawing created on one stock does not automatically appear on another stock.

Copy and paste can be used to reuse a drawing on another stock.

Across devices

Saved drawings are linked to the ThndrX account and remain available on supported devices signed into the same account.

FAQs

Which drawing tools are available on ThndrX?

Every drawing tool available on TradingView's Trading Platform tier is supported on ThndrX. There are no ThndrX-specific tools and no tools intentionally disabled. For step-by-step guidance on any specific tool, refer to TradingView's documentation.

Are my drawings saved when I close the Chart tab?

Drawings are saved automatically to your account the moment they are placed. They remain on the stock across every chart layout and every device you sign into ThndrX with.

If I place a drawing on one stock, will it appear on other stocks?

Drawings are tied to the stock they were placed on and are not synced across different stocks. To reuse a drawing on another stock, select the drawing, copy it, switch to the target stock, and paste it.

How do I remove all drawings from a stock at once?

Clicking the delete-all icon at the bottom of the drawing panel removes every drawing from the current stock in a single action. The delete can be reversed with Undo (Ctrl+Z or Command+Z) within the current chart session, but once the chart is refreshed or the tab is closed, the delete is permanent.

Can I lock a drawing so it cannot be moved by mistake?

Right-clicking a drawing exposes a lock option that prevents that specific drawing from being moved or edited until it is unlocked. The lock icon in the panel utilities locks every drawing on the chart at once.

What does the Hide toggle in the drawing panel do?

The Hide toggle at the bottom of the drawing panel opens a menu with four options: hide drawings, hide indicators, hide position and order lines, or hide all of the above. Hiding is temporary and does not delete anything from the chart — toggling the option off restores what was hidden.
