The Chart tab on ThndrX desktop can display open orders, held positions, bracket levels, and price alerts as horizontal lines.
Available chart actions include:
changing the price of an open order by dragging the order line
cancelling an open order from the order line
viewing position quantity and unrealized profit or loss
creating and editing price alerts
viewing projected and active bracket levels
Market orders do not appear as chart lines because Market orders do not remain open at a fixed price.
What appears on the Chart
The Chart tab can display several types of horizontal lines.
Position line
A Position line appears when a position is held in the selected stock.
The badge shows:
quantity held
unrealized profit or loss in EGP
The unrealized profit or loss updates as the market price changes.
Open Buy order line
An Open Buy order line appears for an active Buy Limit order.
The badge shows:
order quantity
order type
Buy order lines appear in blue.
Open Sell order line
An Open Sell order line appears for an active Sell order.
The badge shows:
order quantity
order type
Sell order lines appear in red.
Bracket lines
Bracket orders can display Take Profit and Stop Loss lines.
Bracket line behavior depends on whether the parent Buy order has filled.
Price alert line
A Price alert line appears as a horizontal dashed line at the alert trigger price.
How bracket orders appear on the Chart
Bracket orders display differently before and after the parent Buy order fills.
Before the Buy order fills
An open bracket order can display:
the Buy order line at the entry price
a projected Take Profit line above the entry price
a projected Stop Loss line below the entry price
The projected Take Profit and Stop Loss lines are previews rather than active Sell orders.
The badges can show the hypothetical profit or loss in EGP if the projected level is reached.
After the Buy order fills
After the parent Buy order fills, the projected Take Profit and Stop Loss lines become active exit orders.
The active Take Profit and Stop Loss lines appear as Sell order lines.
📝 Note: For full details about bracket order behavior, see Using bracket orders when buying stocks on ThndrX desktop.
Editing an open order from the Chart
An open order price can be changed directly from the Chart.
To change the price:
Select and hold the open order line.
Drag the line to the new price.
Release the line.
Review the new price in the confirmation screen.

Dragging an order line changes Price only.

Cancelling an open order from the Chart
To cancel an eligible open order:
Find the open order line.
Click the X icon on the order badge.
Review the cancellation confirmation.
Confirm the cancellation.
The same cancellation flow applies to active Stop Loss and Take Profit Sell orders after the parent Buy order has filled.
Viewing a position on the Chart
The Position line shows:

current unrealized profit or loss in EGP
The profit or loss value updates as the market price changes.
Closing a position directly from the Chart is not currently supported.
To close a position, place a Sell order from the Order Pad.

To create a price alert:
Hover over the price scale on the right side of the Chart.
Find the required price level.
Click the + icon next to the price.

Price alerts can be deleted from the Alerts tab in Trade Management.
To change an alert without using the Chart:

Create a new alert at the required price.

Two controls are available.

FAQs
Why does a Market order not appear on the Chart?
Market orders execute at the best available market price and do not remain open at a fixed price level.
Because no resting order price remains on the market, Market orders do not appear as horizontal order lines.
How can an open order price be changed from the Chart?
Drag the open order line to a new price level.
A confirmation screen appears before the new price is submitted.
Only Price can be changed by dragging the order line. Quantity changes are handled from Trade Management.
What happens after clicking the X icon on an order line?
Clicking the X icon opens a cancellation confirmation.
The order remains open until the cancellation is confirmed.
How can a position be closed from the Chart?
Position closing is handled through the Order Pad, not directly from the Position line.
Place a Sell order from the Order Pad to close the position.
How can order and position lines be hidden?
Use the Hide menu in the drawing panel for temporary visibility control.
For chart-level Trading settings, open Chart settings and adjust Positions and orders.
Hiding lines does not cancel orders or close positions.
How can a price alert be created from the Chart?
Hover over the price scale and click the + icon beside the required price.
Confirm the alert to create a horizontal alert line at that trigger price.
How can the trigger price of an existing alert be changed?
Drag the alert line to the new trigger price and confirm the change.
The Alerts tab in Trade Management supports deletion rather than trigger-price editing.
Why can three lines appear before a bracket Buy order fills?
An open bracket can show:
the parent Buy order line
a projected Take Profit line
a projected Stop Loss line
The projected Take Profit and Stop Loss lines are previews before the Buy order fills.
After the Buy order fills, the projected lines become active Sell order lines.
