Overview
The Chart tab on ThndrX desktop provides several ways to save and reuse chart configurations:
Layouts — save the overall chart setup, including chart type, timeframe, indicators, and appearance
Drawing templates — save drawing styles for reuse
Indicator defaults — save preferred settings for an indicator
Chart settings — control chart appearance and behavior
Drawings are saved separately from layouts. A drawing is linked to the stock where the drawing was created and appears across layouts for the same stock.
Chart layouts
A chart layout is a saved chart setup that can be reopened later.
Layouts are not tied to a specific stock. The same saved layouts are available when viewing different stocks on ThndrX.
What a layout saves
A chart layout saves:
Chart type
Timeframe
Interval
Indicators
Indicator settings
Chart appearance settings
📝 Note: Drawings are not saved as part of a layout. Drawings are saved to individual stocks and remain available across layouts for the same stock. For more information, see Understanding drawing tools on the Chart tab.
Finding layout controls
The current layout name appears in the Chart top toolbar.
The layout menu includes:
Save layout
Make a copy
Rename
Open layout
Saving a layout
Select Save layout to save changes to the current layout.
The keyboard shortcut is:
Ctrl + S on Windows
Command + S on Mac
Saving updates the existing layout with the current chart configuration.
Creating another layout
ThndrX does not have a separate New Layout action.
Use Make a copy to create another layout:
Open the layout menu.
Select Make a copy.
Rename the copied layout.
Change the required chart settings.
Save the layout.
For a layout based on default chart settings, reset the required Chart settings first, then create a copy and save the new configuration.
Opening a saved layout
Select Open layout to view saved layouts.
Selecting a layout applies the saved chart configuration to the stock currently displayed.
A saved layout can contain a different:
chart type
timeframe
interval
set of indicators
chart appearance
Renaming or deleting a layout
Use Rename from the layout menu to change the current layout name.
To delete a layout:
Open Open layout.
Find the saved layout.
Select the delete control next to the layout.
Layout limits and syncing
A ThndrX account can save up to 15 chart layouts.
Saved layouts:
are available across stocks
are linked to the ThndrX account
remain available across supported devices signed into the same account
A layout must be deleted before another layout can be added after reaching the 15-layout limit.
Drawing templates
A drawing template saves the style settings of a drawing for reuse.
Drawing templates can save settings such as:
Color
Line thickness
Line style
Other drawing-specific appearance settings
Drawing templates save drawing configuration, not the drawing location or anchor points.
Finding drawing templates
The Template control is available when working with supported drawings.
TradingView template controls can appear in the selected drawing toolbar and relevant settings menus.
Saving a drawing template
To save a drawing template:
Select the drawing.
Open Template.
Select Save as.
Create a new template or update an existing template.
Applying a drawing template
To apply a saved template:
Select a drawing.
Open Template.
Select the required saved template.
The saved style settings are applied to the selected drawing.
Applying a drawing template can be reversed using Undo during the current chart session.
Deleting a drawing template
Open the Template list and hover over the saved template name.
Select the delete icon to remove the template.
Drawing templates cannot currently be renamed.
Indicator defaults
Drawing templates and indicator settings use different saving methods.
Indicator templates are not currently available on ThndrX.
Instead, the current settings of an indicator can be saved as the default for that indicator.
After indicator settings are saved as default, the saved configuration is applied the next time the same indicator is added.
Indicator defaults apply across chart layouts.
Chart settings
Open Chart settings using the gear icon on the Chart tab.
Chart settings provide TradingView configuration controls for chart appearance and behavior.
Main settings sections include:
Symbol
Controls settings related to price display, including:
Bar colors
Wick colors
Price sources
Other symbol display settings
Status Line
Controls the information displayed in the chart header next to the stock ticker.
Scales and Lines
Controls elements such as:
Price scale
Time scale
Reference lines
Canvas
Controls general chart appearance, including:
Background
Grid
Watermark
Trading
Controls the visibility and appearance of trading information on the Chart, including:
Orders
Positions
Bracket levels
Execution marks
Order and position alignment

Dividend-adjusted prices
The TradingView ADJ setting for dividend-adjusted historical prices is not supported on ThndrX.
The Chart tab displays raw historical prices without cash-dividend adjustments.
FAQs
What information is saved in a chart layout?
A chart layout saves the chart type, timeframe, interval, indicators, indicator settings, and chart appearance.
Drawings are stored separately by stock and are not part of the saved layout.
How can a new chart layout be created?
Use Make a copy from the layout menu to duplicate the current layout.

How are preferred indicator settings saved?
Indicator templates are not currently supported.
