We're sad to see you go. If something specific made you want to leave, our support team would love a chance to help first — most issues can be sorted out in a few messages. If you've made up your mind, this article walks you through everything you need to do and what happens after.

Before you start

If you're actively investing through Thndr, you'll need to clear the following before the app will let you proceed:

Requirement

What to do

Portfolio Balance

Sell all shares or transfer them to another custodian until your balance is zero

Active Orders

Cancel all pending Buy or Sell orders

Wallet Balance

Withdraw funds until the balance is under 50 units per currency:
Egypt Wallet: Under 50 EGP
US Wallet: Under 50 USD
UAE Wallet: Under 50 AED

Savings Balance

Withdraw any funds held in Thndr Savings (Clouds)

Subscriptions

Cancel any active Thndr subscription plans

Funding Requests

Cancel any pending top-up requests

As you resolve each item in the app, the checkmark next to it will turn green. Once all items are cleared, you can submit your deletion request.

How to delete your account

  1. Open the My Hub tab in the Thndr app

  2. Under Account, tap Settings

  3. Tap Delete Account

  4. Clear any outstanding requirements shown on screen

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm

What happens next: Once you confirm, you'll be logged out and your account will be deactivated immediately. You won't be able to trade, deposit, or access your portfolio.

The 30-day grace period

Deletion isn't instant — you have a 30-day grace period to change your mind. Just log back into the app within those 30 days and your account will be fully restored with the same data, history, and settings.

After 30 days, your account is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

What happens to your data

Once the 30-day grace period passes, your personal data is erased from our active systems.

As a regulated investment platform, Thndr is legally required to retain certain records — like transaction history and identity verification documents — for a set period, even after deletion. This is a regulatory obligation we can't override. The data is kept securely and not used for any other purpose. Records related to your identity and trade history may also remain with external entities such as the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) and MCDR, as required by financial law.

FAQs

Will I lose my investment history if I come back later?

Only if you don't log back in within 30 days. Return before then and everything is preserved. After 30 days, you'd start fresh as a new user.

Can I delete my account if I have open trades or pending orders?

No. You'll need to close all positions and cancel any pending orders before the app allows deletion.

How long does Thndr keep my data after deletion?

Personal data is erased after the 30-day grace period, except for records we're legally required to retain under financial regulations.
