NM Sharia Equity Fund is a high risk open-ended equity fund that invests in Shari’a compliant stocks listed and traded on the EGX. NMF is a liquid investment which offers daily subscription and weekly redemption. 


The fund has been active since November 2011.


How does NM Sharia Equity Fund (NMF) ensure compliance to the Islamic Sharia ?


NM Sharia Equity Fund is Sharia compliant and is restricted from investing in companies engaged in activities that go against guidelines established by the appointed Sharia board consisting of:

  • Dr. El-Sayed A. El-Moteleb

Who manages NM Sharia Equity Fund (NMF) ?

 

The fund is managed by Naeem Asset Management, a subsidiary of Naeem Holding for Investments, an investment bank that provides financial services. NAEEM Holding is a listed company on the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX: NAHO EY) and Dubai Financial Market (DFM: NAHO-DU). 

 

How do I collect my NM Sharia Equity Fund (NMF) earnings?

 

The live certificate price of NMF reflects the return or profit achieved. 

In order to collect the earnings, you will need to sell your NM Sharia Equity Fund certificates.



Buying & Selling 

 

Buying


Buy Orders can be made daily with a cut-off time of 12:30 PM. This means that:

  • Orders made before 12:30 PM will be executed the next working day at the new certificate’s price (price of the execution day).
  • Orders made after 12:30 PM will be executed in 2 working days at the new certificate’s price (price of the execution day).


Selling


Sell orders will be processed every week on the last day of the week at 12:30 PM:

  • Orders made before 12:30 PM will be executed the following working day, on the next working day’s price. 
  • Orders made after 12:30 PM will be processed on the last day of the following week, and executed the following working day, at the new certificate price.


Steps to place your order:


  • Open the Thndr app 
  • Search for Naeem Misr or (NMF) or find it under the mutual funds theme through your Explore tab. 
  • Tap on “Naeem Misr”
  • Tap on Buy
  • Set the amount of certificates or the amount of money you would like to invest. There is a minimum of 2 certificates for any buy order. 


Fees


Other than Thndr’s fees listed hereThese fees are already included in the certificate price, so investors don't pay them separately.

Fund Expenses: 

  • Total Expense Ratio: 

A fee that the fund charges to cover its operating costs, like management and administration. Which is around 1.5%.

  • Performance Fee: 

A fee calculated on how well the fund performs compared to the average return of Sharia-compliant annual interest bearing accounts - If the fund does better, the manager gets a bonus, which is 10% of the extra return.

For example, if the fund makes 40% return and the benchmark is 10%, the extra return is 30% (40% - 10%). Then, 10% of that extra return, so 3%, goes to the manager as a performance fee.

No, NM Sharia Equity Fund is independent of Naeem Holding stock.
