ADX Inheritance Process

We know losing a loved one is not easy but this guide will help you know what you need to do in the case of inheritance of ADX securities, including documents needed, fees, and timing.

We're so sorry for your loss. We know paperwork is the last thing you want to think about right now, so we've put everything you need to transfer ADX securities in one place. What you need depends on whether you're a UAE resident or a non-UAE resident.

How to request an inheritance transfer

In case of personal presence in the UAE

  1. Download the required form from the ADX website.

  2. Fill it in personally at ADX Customer Service on the ground floor at the ADX headquarters, or at any ADX location.

Submitting an inheritance request through Thndr

Documents for UAE residents

Prepare the following documents:

  • A copy of the family book for UAE nationals (the original must be submitted for review)

  • A copy of a valid ID card for UAE citizens and residents (the original must be submitted for review)

  • A copy of the ID card for expatriates (the original must be submitted for review)

  • A copy of the power of attorney, if any (the original must be submitted for review)

Important: If the power of attorney or decree of distribution was issued outside the UAE, it must be attested by all of the following:

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country that issued it

  • The UAE embassy in the country that issued it

  • The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Note: Make sure the investor's details are up to date, including ID card details and International Bank Account Number (IBAN) details.

Documents for non-UAE residents

Prepare the following documents:

  • Death certificate

  • Decree of distribution, attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country that issued it, the UAE embassy in that country, and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • The completed security transfer form

What happens after you submit your documents?

Your documents are submitted to ADX for review, and Thndr approves the request from its side. Most requests are answered within 1 working day.


Inheritance transfer fees

The fee is the same for UAE residents and non-UAE residents:

  • 0.20% of the market value

  • Minimum of AED 25 + VAT
