Understanding Weekly Watchlists

Weekly watchlist ideas, trigger and invalidation conditions, watchlist statuses, and how a watchlist idea becomes a technical call.

A weekly watchlist is a set of trading ideas published by Rumble’s technical analysts for the upcoming week.

Each weekly watchlist is created for:

  • one market

  • one technical expert

  • one trading week

A weekly watchlist includes:

  • a video walkthrough from the expert

  • a list of stock ideas

  • the technical rationale for each idea

  • Trigger conditions

  • Invalidation conditions

  • the Target and Stop Loss to use if the idea becomes a call

Weekly watchlists are published over the weekend before the first trading session of the week.

📝 Note: Weekly Watchlists are available with the Trading plan and Conviction & Trading plan. Conviction-only subscribers do not have access.

Where to find weekly watchlists

Weekly Watchlists appear on the Technical page in the Weekly Watchlists section.

Opening a Weekly Watchlist displays:

  1. the expert’s video walkthrough

  2. the stock ideas for the selected week

The video explains the expert’s strategy, market view, and reasoning behind the week’s ideas.

💡 Tip: Rumble recommends reviewing the expert video before acting on Weekly Watchlist ideas.

ThndrX tools such as price alerts can also be used to monitor Trigger and Invalidation levels. Weekly Watchlist content is also available through the Rumble Hub inside ThndrX.

How a weekly watchlist is built

Each Weekly Watchlist follows defined rules.

Number of stocks

A Weekly Watchlist contains between 3 and 7 stocks.

Carrying ideas into another week

A stock can carry over from the previous Weekly Watchlist.

Carryover can apply to stocks in:

  • Watching

  • Triggered

Active call capacity

Each technical expert can have a maximum of 15 active Technical Calls.

When the maximum active-call capacity is reached, new stocks are not added to the Weekly Watchlist until capacity becomes available.

Reading a weekly watchlist idea

Each stock in a Weekly Watchlist represents a potential Technical Call.

A stock idea includes the following fields.

Status

Weekly Watchlist ideas use two main statuses:

  • Watching

  • Triggered

Watching

Watching means the idea is still waiting for the Trigger condition.

No Technical Call has been issued yet.

Triggered

Triggered means the Trigger condition has been met.

A Triggered idea links to the corresponding Technical Call after the expert issues the call.

Technical rationale

Technical rationale is a short explanation of the setup behind the idea.

The rationale explains why the stock is being monitored.

Trigger

Trigger is the condition that must occur before entry becomes valid.

Examples can include:

  • touching a specific price

  • closing above a specific level

  • another technical condition defined by the expert

The Trigger defines when the idea becomes actionable.

Invalidation

Invalidation is the condition that cancels the trading setup.

If the Invalidation condition occurs before the Trigger condition, the idea is no longer valid.

If triggered

The If triggered section shows the planned trade structure if the Trigger condition is met.

Available information includes:

  • Target Price

  • Stop Loss

The Stop Loss is shown in the Weekly Watchlist before the Technical Call is issued.

After a Technical Call is issued, the Stop Loss is no longer displayed on the Technical Call itself.

How a watchlist idea becomes a technical call

A Weekly Watchlist idea follows a defined sequence.

1. Watching

The idea remains in Watching status while the Trigger condition has not been met.

2. Trigger condition is met

When the Trigger condition is reached, the idea moves to triggered.

3. Expert confirmation

The expert reviews the triggered setup before issuing the Technical Call.

Technical Calls are issued manually rather than automatically.

4. Technical call is issued

After expert confirmation, the Triggered idea links to the matching Technical Call.

The Technical Call then becomes the source for ongoing instructions, recommendation status, and updates.

How to use a weekly watchlist

A Weekly Watchlist is designed to help users prepare before a Technical Call is issued.

A typical workflow is:

  1. Watch the expert’s weekly video.

  2. Review the technical rationale for each stock.

  3. Monitor the Trigger and Invalidation conditions.

  4. Avoid acting before the Trigger condition is met.

  5. Stop following an idea if the Invalidation condition occurs first.

  6. After the expert issues the Technical Call, follow the Technical Call for ongoing instructions and updates.

Rumble’s Technical Calls Guide also recommends keeping each individual Technical Call within 10% of the portfolio.

Weekly Watchlists vs Technical Calls

Weekly Watchlists and Technical Calls represent different stages of the process.

Weekly Watchlist

A Weekly Watchlist contains potential trade setups before a call is issued.

Weekly Watchlists show:

  • rationale

  • Trigger

  • Invalidation

  • Target

  • Stop Loss

Technical Call

A Technical Call is the issued recommendation after the setup triggers and receives expert confirmation.

Technical Calls show:

  • Buy Range

  • Target

  • recommendation status

  • performance

  • analyst updates

The Stop Loss is available in the Weekly Watchlist rather than on the issued Technical Call.
