The private offering is limited to financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals, and experienced individuals and entities, as defined by FRA Board Decree No. 48 of 2019 and its amendments.

  • High-net-worth individuals: Minimum order value of EGP 5 million

How to place an MNT-Halan IPO order on Thndr

  1. Top up your Thndr wallet with at least 25% of the order value you want to place.

  2. Open the Thndr app and search for HALN or MNT-Halan.

  3. Place a buy order for at least 100 shares any time between October 7th and October 15th, 2026.

  4. Review your order and confirm. Your IPO order appears in your pending orders until the allocation is complete.

Tip: Don't leave it to the last day. Place your final order before EGX trading closes at 2:30 PM on October 15th, 2026.

Wallet balance and blocked amount

When you place an MNT-Halan IPO order, Thndr blocks 25% of the order value from your Thndr wallet. This means you can place an order worth up to 4x your available wallet balance.

If your final allocation is worth more than the amount blocked, you'll need to deposit the remaining amount to pay for the allocated shares.

Note: This is not lending from Thndr, but a rule set by the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) that applies to all brokerage firms, not a credit benefit or facility Thndr provides on its own. Thndr doesn't offer credit facilities of any kind; only part (25%) of your order value is temporarily blocked instead of blocking the full value immediately. Your order stays pending until the final allocation is known. If the offering is covered 4x your order or more (i.e. you get full allocation or less), the blocked amount is enough and you won't need to deposit anything extra. Only if the offering's coverage is below 4x — meaning the value of shares allocated to you is greater than 25% of your order value — will you need to deposit the remaining amount from your own funds before the purchase is completed in full.

Example

You have EGP 24,500 in your Thndr wallet. You place an IPO order for 4,000 shares worth EGP 98,000, and Thndr blocks EGP 24,500 (25%).

  • If the IPO is heavily oversubscribed: You're allocated 400 shares worth EGP 9,800. The blocked amount covers it, and EGP 14,700 is refunded to your Thndr wallet

  • If the IPO isn't heavily oversubscribed: You're allocated 2,000 shares worth EGP 49,000. The blocked EGP 24,500 isn't enough, so you'll need to deposit the remaining EGP 24,500

Important: Only place an order you can fully pay for. If demand is lower than expected, you may be allocated most or all of the shares you requested.

How allocation works

If demand in the public offering is higher than the 48,000,000 shares available, shares are allocated proportionally, based on the total number of shares investors ordered against the number of shares available. This means you may receive fewer shares than you ordered.

Multiple IPO orders

You can place more than one order in the MNT-Halan IPO. All your orders count toward your total requested shares, and allocation is based on that total, so multiple orders don't increase your chances of a full allocation.

Cancelling an IPO order

You can cancel an MNT-Halan IPO order from your pending orders section while the subscription period is open. Once the public offering closes on October 15th, 2026, IPO orders can no longer be cancelled.

What happens after the offering closes

  1. The public offering closes on October 15th, 2026.

  2. Shares are allocated proportionally if the public offering is oversubscribed.

  3. Your IPO order is executed, usually within 5 business days after the offering closes.

  4. Any unallocated amount is refunded to your Thndr wallet after your IPO order is executed by EGX.

  5. Your allocated shares appear in your portfolio and become tradable once EGX announces the trading start date.

Listing and trading

The trading start date for HALN hasn't been announced yet. Thndr will notify you once EGX announces it.

You can sell your MNT-Halan shares on the first trading day if first-day selling is supported by the exchange and the offering terms. You don't need a Trader subscription to sell on the first day, as T+0 and T+1 orders are available on Thndr without one.

Once trading starts, HALN trades during normal EGX trading hours, 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM Cairo time.

Stabilization fund

The MNT-Halan IPO includes a stabilization fund that starts once trading begins. It covers shares allocated through the public offering only.

For how a stabilization fund works, see Understanding IPOs on Thndr.

Other offering details

The private tranche can be increased

Depending on demand, the private offering can grow by up to 80,000,000 additional shares (5% of the company), subject to FRA approval. Any increase must be announced no later than three days before the public offering closes. This doesn't change the size of the public tranche.

Capital increase after the offering

After the offering, the company plans a capital increase of up to EGP 4 billion at the offer price. Only the main shareholder, MNT Investments B.V., can subscribe to it. Investors who buy in this offering won't have priority rights in that increase, and the prospectus asks buyers to consider the possible dilution of their ownership.

Shares for senior management

Before trading starts, and subject to FRA approval, the main shareholder intends to sell 24,333,334 shares to senior management at companies in the group.

Strategic investor

The company and the main shareholder signed an agreement for Commercial International Bank (CIB) to buy part of the private offering, up to 4.9% of the company's total shares, at the offer price.

FAQs

What is the MNT-Halan offer price?

EGP 24.50 per share.

What is the minimum I can subscribe for?

100 shares, which is EGP 2,450 at the offer price. Since Thndr blocks 25%, you need at least EGP 612.50 in your Thndr wallet.

How much money do I need in my wallet?

25% of your order value. For example, an order worth EGP 40,000 needs EGP 10,000 in your Thndr wallet. Keep in mind you may need to deposit the rest if you're allocated more than the blocked amount covers.

When is the last day to subscribe?

Thursday, October 15th, 2026. Orders must reach EGX before trading closes at 2:30 PM that day.

Can I place an order outside trading hours?

Yes. You can place IPO orders in the app at any time during the subscription period. They're sent to EGX during normal trading hours.

Can I place more than one order?

Yes. All your orders count toward your total requested shares, and allocation is based on that total.

Can I join the private offering through Thndr?

No. Private offering orders go through EFG Hermes only.

Will I get all the shares I ordered?

Only if total demand in the public offering is 48,000,000 shares or less. Otherwise, shares are allocated proportionally and you'll receive fewer shares than you ordered.

When will I get my refund?

Any unallocated amount is refunded to your Thndr wallet after your IPO order is executed, usually within 5 business days after the offering closes.

Can I cancel my IPO order?

Yes, from your pending orders section, until the public offering closes on October 15th, 2026.

When can I sell my shares?

Once trading on HALN starts. EGX hasn't announced the trading start date yet, and Thndr will notify you when it does.

Is there a stabilization fund?

Yes. A stabilization fund starts once trading begins, and it covers shares allocated through the public offering only.

Is this an IPO of the whole MNT-Halan group?

No. Only the Egyptian business, MNT Tech Holding for Financial Investments, is listing on the EGX.

Does the company receive the money from this offering?

No. The shares are being sold by the main shareholder, MNT Investments B.V. Fresh capital goes into the company later through a separate capital increase that only the main shareholder subscribes to.

Does Thndr lend me the difference between my balance and the required amount?

No. Blocking only 25% of the order value isn't a loan or financing from Thndr, but a rule approved by the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) that applies to all brokerage firms and isn't a benefit specific to Thndr. This arrangement lets you place an order larger than your available balance because the final allocation is often lower than the order placed, due to oversubscription. You only need to deposit an additional amount if the offering's coverage is below 4x (i.e. the value of shares allocated to you is greater than the amount blocked in your wallet) — if coverage is 4x or more, no additional deposit is needed. Thndr doesn't provide financing or credit to cover this difference in either case.
