Overview
We're sad to see you go. If something specific is making you want to leave, our support team would love a chance to help first — most issues can be sorted out in a few messages. If you've made up your mind, this article walks you through the full deletion process and what happens to your data.
Before you delete your account
If you're actively investing through Thndr, there are two things to take care of first:
Sell your shares – close out any open positions in your portfolio
Withdraw your funds – move all remaining cash out of your Thndr Wallet
How to delete your account
Open the Account page in the Thndr app
Tap Settings
Tap Delete Account
Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm
Important: Make sure you've sold all shares and withdrawn all funds before starting. The app won't let you complete deletion while there's an open position or remaining balance.
What to expect after deletion
Once you confirm, your account is deactivated immediately. You won't be able to trade, deposit, or access your portfolio.
You have a 30-day grace period to change your mind. Just log back in within those 30 days and your account will be fully restored — same data, same history, same settings. After 30 days, your account is permanently deleted and your personal data is erased from our active systems.
What happens to your personal data
We retain personal information only for as long as it's needed to meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements. After your 30-day grace period, we erase your data — except where we're legally required to keep it.
Note: As a regulated investment platform, Thndr is required by financial regulators to retain certain transaction records and identity verification data for a set period, even after account deletion. This is a legal obligation we can't override, but the retained data is kept securely and is not used for any other purpose.
FAQs
Will I lose my investment history if I come back later?
Only if you don't come back within 30 days. Log in any time before then and everything is preserved. After 30 days, you'd start fresh as a new user.
Can I delete my account if I have open trades or pending orders?
No. You'll need to close all positions and let any pending orders settle before the app allows deletion.
How long does Thndr keep my data after deletion?
Personal data is erased after the 30-day grace period, except for records we're legally required to retain (such as transaction history and KYC documents under financial regulations).
