Stock Order Status & Lifecycle: What Each Stage Means

Understand how your order moves from submission to execution, what each status means, and what happens next

Every stock order placed on Thndr moves through a series of stages, reflected as status updates in the app. Each status shows exactly what is happening to your order — whether it’s being checked, waiting at the exchange, partially executed, or completed.

Understanding these statuses helps you:

  • Track your order in real time

  • Know what to expect next

  • Take action when needed (modify, cancel, or wait)

How Your Order Moves Through the System

Every order follows a structured lifecycle:

1. Order Created

Status in the app: Pending Submit

Your order is created in Thndr’s system but has not yet been sent to the exchange.

2. Order is sent to the exchange
Status in the app:
Pending

Once validated, your order is sent to the exchange and becomes active in the exchange order book, waiting to be matched.

3. Matching and execution
Status:
Fulfilled or Partially Filled Pending

The exchange matches orders using time-price priority.

Possible outcomes:

  • Fully matched — your order becomes Fulfilled

  • Partially matched — your order becomes Partially Filled Pending

4. Completion
Status in the app:
Fulfilled, Cancelled, Expired, or Rejected

These statuses mean your order is complete. No further actions are possible:

  • Fulfilled — fully executed

  • Cancelled — cancelled before completion

  • Partially Filled Cancelled — Part of your order was executed, and the rest was cancelled. The executed portion is final, and the remaining portion is closed.

  • Expired — not executed within its time limit

  • Rejected — declined before or at the exchange

Where Can I See My Order Status?

You can track your order status directly in the app:

  1. Go to Home

  2. Next to My Investments, tap Orders

  3. You’ll see all your orders and their current status

Tap any order to view more details, including price, quantity, and execution updates.

Order Status Flow

As your order progresses, its status updates based on what’s happening at each stage. This helps you understand what could happen next depending on your current order status.

Once your order reaches a final status, no further changes can be made.

FAQs

My order shows Pending for a long time — is that normal?

A Pending order can remain active for some time, especially for limit orders. This happens when the market price has not yet reached your selected price, or when there are not enough matching orders available. The order will remain pending until it is executed, cancelled, or expires.

Can a Fulfilled order be reversed?

A Fulfilled order cannot be reversed. Once execution is complete, the trade is final and cannot be undone through the app. If you believe there is an error, contact our support team.

What's the difference between Expired and Cancelled?

Expired means the order was automatically closed because its time limit ended without being executed. Cancelled means the order was manually closed before execution.

Can I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order as long as it has not been fully executed. If the order is still active (such as Pending or Partially Filled Pending), cancellation is available. Once the order is Fulfilled, it can no longer be changed or cancelled.
